At InteguRx Therapeutics, we are dedicated to creating and applying innovative transdermal drug delivery technologies to address patients’ needs that are not satisfied by current therapies. We have developed a proprietary enabling technology, a skin penetration enhancement system which can achieve extraordinary increases in drug permeation through human skin.

Delivery Technology?
The skin is nature’s barrier to prevent foreign substances and organisms from gaining access to our internal tissues. A few drugs, particularly those with small size and simple chemical structures, can diffuse over time through the skin, but most require the assistance of ‘penetration enhancers’. We have developed a novel combination of known skin penetration enhancers which synergize to achieve extraordinarily robust transdermal delivery of some drugs to the systemic circulation. These enhancers are derived from two broad families of fatty acids that differ in the lengths of their carbon chains and are all ‘generally regarded as safe’ (GRAS) molecules that are found on the FDA’s Inactive Ingredients List. This penetration enhancement platform is capable of delivering a diverse array of drugs, on two of which we are focusing our efforts currently. Unlike some transdermal delivery technologies (LASERS, electroporation, microneedle arrays), our approach does not require physical disruption of the skin barrier; as such, it is less likely to induce skin irritation and is simpler and less expensive to manufacture.
Our Pipeline Products
We are developing two products that will deliver therapeutic doses of medicine via the transdermal route; one to avoid the need to ingest and retain an oral dosage form in the midst of nausea and vomiting, and the other to eliminate potentially troublesome concentration peaks and adverse events associated with oral pharmacokinetics.
